Registration and refund policies for our classes

We are very happy to sign you up for any of our classes on a first come first served basis.
PLEASE pay in full when registering to guarantee your space in the class and to purchase materials. Your Confirmation will be by phone. or e-mail. As classes fill up, sign-ups who have not yet paid will be dropped from the list to make room for confirmed students. Payments are refundable up to one week prior to class. Note A $15.00 non-refundable fee will be retained for administrative purposes. We will make no refunds after the first day of class.
Please note, Class may be canceled if a minimum number of students ( 6 ) is not met and all money will be refunded.

1-We accept most credit cards by phone.
2- Payments can be made in person by visiting the herb farm.
3- Payment by check mailing your name, address, phone number, and title of class when registering.
-Payments are refundable up to one week prior to class. A $15.00 non-refundable fee will be retained for instructor preparation.

North Florida is one of the best places in the country to grow organic vegetables in your own backyard. Learn the basics from an expert! Bluebird Growers owner Nicholas Zimmer will teach you how to plan, implement and care for your organic Spring vegetable garden. This entertaining class will be full of useful and practical information delivered in a down to earth format. Class will include detailed handouts, and all participants will take home an organic 4” vegetable plant of your choice! If you have ever wanted to start getting your hands dirty and growing your own food, you don’t want to miss this class! Cost: $10 Person.

 

 

 Beginner Cheese Making: March 22, 2015 Sunday afternoon 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
Cheese is a magical food that has sustained cultures all over the world for thousands of years. Nicholas Zimmer, Bluebird Growers owner, is a Wisconsin native and cheese junky! He will break down the basics of this “mystical” food and teach participants how to make simple cheese at their own home. Attendees will enjoy sampling
a variety of cheeses and will make 2 different cheese varieties that will include fresh herbs grown at Maggie’s Herb Farm. If you have ever wanted to learn the secrets
behind the fascinating world of cheese, you don’t want to miss this class! All materials included Cost: $30 Person.

 

 

"Local Medicinal Herbs." Sunday March 28, 2015 Saturday 10:AM 2:00 PM

Are you picking and tossing out "weeds" that can actually benefit your health? In this workshop, Master Herbalist Cindy Whitley will teach you how to identify and properly prepare the locally growing medicinal herbs in the Northeast Florida area. Each participant will make 2 remedies in class and bring home lots of valuable information for future plant identification and medicine making. Lots of new plants will be covered! Please bring a sack lunch. Cost $40

Beginner Coffee Roasting: April 12, 2015 Sunday afternoon time 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
Coffee: the best part of waking up! Where does this magical beverage come from? Nicholas Zimmer , Bluebird Growers owner and amateur coffee roaster, will cover
everything from growing the plant to harvesting and roasting the beans. Participants will be able to roast their own coffee, and actually take home their own coffee
roasters and green coffee beans! We will also enjoy samples of coffee from various coffee regions, brewed in several different methods. Cost: $40 Person.

Herb Farm 32th Annual Birthday Festival Celebration May 9, 2015 Saturday time 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Come out to our yearly herb festival for the farms 32 nd birthday!. We will have many vendors visiting with herb
herbal popsicles, butterfly plants, homemade herb snacks , herbal crafts, handmade soaps, birdhouses, medicinal herbalists, garden art and pottery. We have varieties of naturally grown culinary herbs, and medicinal plants. Hummingbird and butterfly plants , herbal lunch , teas, and live band to spice up the day! Free admission, pets required to be maintained and leashed .Please carpool if available. One to definitely mark on the calendar! See you there!
 

 

Cold Process Soap Making May 17th Sunday time 12:30 PM– 4:30 PM
Make soap with the cold process technique use by many professionals. Essential oils as well as herbs grown from Maggie's herb farm will be used in the soap making process. Each person will take home their own batch yielding 10 - 5 ounce bars. Take-away literature & resource list for future soap making at home will be distributed. Adults only, no students under 18. Parent and Child Nature Journaling Workshop Saturday June 6, 2015 10:00 AM 12:00 Noon
Discover how to be a super observers of your world through nature journaling! In this workshop for children ages 6-12 and their favorite adult, we will make nature journals and explore how to be an observer, just like artists and scientists, by using all our senses. We’ll enjoy stories and songs and then head out into the farm to explore and draw all the unique flowers, insects, and garden hummingbirds, butterflies, lizards, frogs, and creatures to be found! Children will make and take journals, engage in sensory observation activities, receive drawing instruction, and connect to their natural world through basic garden botany and zoology. Parents will discover fun ways to spark their children's wonder and build family bonds through nature connection. Instructor, Kelly Johnson is an artist, author, and garden guide from an award winning book Wings, Worms, and Wonder. Fee $40 per child , parents free

 Mead Made Easy! September 13, 2015 Sunday afternoon time 2:00 PM-4:00 PM
Mead truly is the nectar of the gods! Perhaps one of the first intoxicating beverages, this potent potable has been lifting sprits since the dawn of man. Nicholas Zimmer, Bluebird Growers owner and mead enthusiast, will lead you through the fascinating world of mead. Attendees will help brew a batch of this brew using local honey and organic herbs. The class will culminate in the sampling and unveiling of Maggie’s Herb Farm’s very own Lemon Verbena Mead! Participants will even be able to take home a bottle, must be 21 or older cost $30
